What is a Tertiary Admissions Centre?
A Tertiary Admissions Centre (TAC) is a state based central office that receives and processes applications for admission to participating higher education providers (providers). Rather than applying separately to each institution, TACs streamline the application process by accepting a single application from you that contains a list of preferences.
Once applications are processed the participating providers decide who will be offered a place in a course of study based on the preferences expressed by applicants in their TAC applications.
Note: Generally you will need to apply to a TAC to obtain a Commonwealth supported place.
What if my provider isn’t represented by a TAC?
If a TAC does not represent the provider where you want to undertake your course you should contact the provider directly about their application process.
