About the Blue Mountains Hotel School and Australian International Hotel school
Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) P/L operates two campuses, the Blue Mountains Hotel School (BMHS)
in Leura, NSW and the Australian International Hotel School (AIHS)
in Canberra, ACT. Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) P/L is accredited to offer higher education courses in both NSW and the ACT.
In 2006 the Blue Mountains Hotel School (BMHS), Australia’s first fully residential private hotel management college, celebrates 15 years of successful operation, providing international qualifications in hospitality and tourism management to over 3,000 graduates.
BMHS delivers two higher education awards, a one-year higher education Diploma of Food and Beverage Management and a two-year Associate Degree in Hotel and Resort Management, which have accreditation from the Hotel and Catering Institute Management Association (HCIMA). These courses dovetail with a three-year Bachelor of Business program. Students learn practical skills in the day-to-day operations of a ‘virtual’ hotel on the residential campus.
Australian International Hotel School (AIHS)
is a located in Australia's national capital, Canberra. Established in 1994, the AIHS offers a three year Bachelor of Business (Hotel Management) degree through a balance of classroom based management education and workplace based training.
New in 2007 is the Master of Hotel Management program at the AIHS. This course enables students holding a current Bachelor level degree to further their studies in Hospitality through our balance of academic study and work experience over 2 years culminating in the Masters.
Students also have the opportunity to tailor their Bachelor of Business (Hotel Management) degree through a specialisation. Specialised studies are focused on one facet of the industry; Convention and Events Management is currently offered in 2007, with other specialisations being developed.
Both BMHS and AIHS courses include periods of paid industry placement with employers. Australian students can now apply to defer their BMHS and AIHS tuition fees through the Federal Government’s FEE-HELP tuition fee loan scheme.
