About Charles Sturt University

Charles Sturt University (CSU)You are now leaving Going to Uniis Australia’s largest non-metropolitan university, providing 496 courses to meet the changing needs of society, commerce, industry and the professions. Most courses are offered in a variety of options to suit you and your lifestyle, including full-time or part-time on campus study, and study by distance education.

In 2006 CSU delivered its courses to 34,261 students across Australia and overseas. Of these 28,440 were domestic students, with about 18,000 of these studying by distance education. CSU study options offer the flexibility for students to undertake single subject study, enrolling in individual subject(s) without the three to six year commitment.

With the support of dedicated professional lecturers with practical and relevant industry experience, CSU graduates are industry ready. A recent survey conducted by the Graduate Careers Council of Australia found that 83 per cent of CSU graduates were in full-time employment at the end of their studies.

In response to the critical shortage of health practitioners and other professionals in rural and regional areas, CSU is developing courses to service the needs of the professions in inland Australia. It recognises and demonstrates the ability to educate health professionals from a rural background, with 70 per cent of its health graduates practising in rural and remote areas.

CSU’s new $65.1 million School of Dentistry and Health Sciences is set to open in 2009 with pre-clinical and clinical facilities in Orange (dentistry) and Wagga Wagga (oral health) and Dental Education Clinics in Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst and Dubbo in NSW. CSU will offer a three-year Bachelor of Oral Health (Therapy/Hygiene) for students interested in admission as paradental professions, and a five-year combined Oral Science/Bachelor of Dental Science for admission as a dental practitioner.

Our campuses offer you the opportunity to undertake a cutting edge degree while belonging to a wider learning community. As a CSU student, you will benefit from close-knit relationships with fellow students and the teaching fraternity in a community that embraces diversity and nurtures individual growth. The regional location of the University contributes to its success in meeting student needs. Its network of campuses in Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange and Wagga Wagga, along with smaller specialist centres throughout Australia, offers a sense of space that has encouraged growth in the form of commercial enterprises and industry standard facilities. Physical distances have been overcome by harnessing telecommunications, and CSU transcends borders to offer courses throughout Australia and the world through its regional campuses and its metropolitan locations, CSU Study Centres in Melbourne and Sydney.
