About Central Queensland University
A young, energetic, and welcoming university, Central Queensland University (CQU)
serves an increasingly mobile, skilled and demanding market throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
CQU’s 21 000 students from 120 countries are enrolled across a dozen campuses and learning sites including Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Emerald, Gladstone and Mackay in Central Queensland, international campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and several overseas locations. Its postgraduate and undergraduate programs span the natural and physical sciences, information technology, engineering, architecture and building, environmental studies, health, education, business and management, society and culture, and the creative and performing arts. Designed to meet the needs of an international workforce, they are modelled on teaching and learning excellence, flexibility and personal attention. CQU is highly regarded for its provision of distance learning and flexible delivery, with two thirds of domestic students studying by distance and three quarters being mature age.
CQU provides industry-based learning models, with programs in areas such as engineering, accounting, health and education featuring integrated industry-based components and workplace study options. CQU has one of the highest employment rates in Australia for graduates (Graduate Careers Council of Australia), and is rated among the best universities in Australia for the overall education experience and graduate starting salaries (Good Universities Guide).
CQU is innovative and responsive to environmental, social and economic sustainability issues, and values accessibility and equity in all services and programs it offers. In partnership with industries, other learning institutions, governments and community organisations, CQU is pursuing new growth opportunities and tangibly enhancing the lives of thousands of individuals.
