Gestalt Therapy Brisbane
Gestalt Therapy Brisbane (GTB) offers comprehensive education and training in the theory and practice of Gestalt Theraphy over a four year program. It promotes the growth and development of individuals, groups and the community.
The 4 year programme offered by the Institute is accredited by GANZ (Gestalt Australia and New Zealand), an association of Gestalt therapists and practitioners and PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia). It is also accredited by Education Queensland, Office of Higher Education and offers a Graduate Certificate in Gestalt Therapy and a Master of Gestalt Therapy to eligible students. GTB has strong links to the international Gestalt community.
It promotes the growth and development of individuals, groups and the community. It offers an experiential learning model in a trusting and respectful environment. Participants develop a high level of personal awareness, practice skills, and a sound grounding in theoretical principles.
Gestalt Therapy Brisbane is committed to ethical practice and teaching.
Gestalt Therapy embodies a holistic perspective, embracing a person's physical, psychological, intellectual, emotional, interpersonal and spiritual experience. It focuses on the moment-to-moment awareness and living in the present. It holds that increased awareness of contact with others and the environment provides clearer opportunities for individuals to increase the quality of their relationships and be able to discover new, creative solutions to their wellbeing.

Important Enrolment Dates
Year 1 enrolments occur from November – March
The first training weekend for first year students is in April.
Education begins for years 2-4 in February. Applications need to be received before the end of January.

Minimum Entrance Requirements
Minimum Entrance Requirements information
The Directors of Gestalt Theraphy Brisbane are responsible for making decisions about a person's eligiblity to enrol in the programme. The following details provide further guidelines for the Directors when a decision regarding adminission into either the Graduate Cerfiticat of Master programmes.
Entry in the Graduate Certificate in Gestalt Therapy
- An approved 3 or 4 year Bachelor Degree;
- An Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher-level vocational Certificate in a relevant area of study together with extensive relevant work experience; and
- On the basis of extensive relevant work experience demonstrating potential to undertake work at this level.
Entry into the Master of Gestalt Therapy
- An approved 3 or 4 year Bachelor Degree;
- An Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher-level vocational Certificate in a relevant area of study together with extensive relevant work experience; and
- On the basis of extensive relevant work experience demonstrating potential to undertake work at this level. This must be accompanied by the successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Gestalt Therapy with an overall credit grading.
