About the Melbourne College of Divinity
The Melbourne College of Divinity (MCD)
has for 100 years offered academically rigorous degrees in theology and ministry and presents wide ranging opportunities for the in depth study of the Bible and the Christian tradition, and their contemporary interaction with the issues and faiths of today’s world.
The MCD is committed to

- the integrity of the Christian churches.
The MCD was constituted by an Act of the Victorian Parliament in 1910 – it is the second oldest self-regulating Higher Education Provider in Victoria, and the sixth oldest in Australia. Today it embraces colleges of the Anglican, Baptist, Churches of Christ, Roman Catholic, The Salvation Army and Uniting churches, with students coming from other traditions as well. MCD degrees and diplomas are taught at rgw following Recognised Teaching Institutions:

Students at the MCD enjoy small classes, supportive learning environments, personal engagement with academic staff and excellent library support.
MCD courses range from diplomas to doctoral degrees, with the Bachelor of Theology (three years) as the core undergraduate degree. The College is affiliated with the University of Melbourne and offers a joint degree with Monash University.
FEE-HELP is available to all eligible MCD students.

The Melbourne College of Divinity is the only higher education institution specializing in Theology/Divinity/Religious Studies listed in Table A or B of the Higher Education Support Act 2003 and is the leading institution for enrolments in higher degrees by research, in the fields of Theology/Divinity/Religious Studies, across the entire Australian higher education sector.
According to Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (Students: Selected Higher Education Statistics), between 2004-2008, the MCD accounted for 20% of all students enrolled in Theology/Divinity/Religious Studies research doctorates, across the 10 major higher education providers in this field of research.
In the case of masters by research programs, the MCD accounted for 53% of all enrolments for the same period, across the same group of providers.
