About Queensland University of Technology

Queensland University of Technology (QUT)You are now leaving Going to Uni is a highly successful, energetic and innovative university of 40,000 students, with a strongly applied emphasis. Its well-known positioning as “a university for the real world” reflects strong and productive links with industry, the professions and the community in teaching and research.

Courses are in high demand and graduates have excellent job and career outcomes. QUT provides the largest number of bachelor degree graduates into full-time jobs in the nation and, in Queensland, is university of first choice for the greatest number of undergraduate applicants.

A broad range of programs from undergraduate to doctoral level are offered in major disciplines of Built Environment and Engineering, Business, Creative Industries, Education, Health, Humanities and Human Services, Information Technology, Law, and Science.

The four campuses, at Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove in Brisbane CBD, and at Carseldine and Caboolture in the growth corridor north of the city, are attractive places for students. State of the art learning facilities on campus are backed up by a sophisticated virtual learning environment.

Growing research performance is underlined by the establisment of major institutes, in areas such as health research, information security and sustainability, which encourage a multidisciplinary approach.

The university was founded in 1989, but its predecessor institutions served the needs of Queensland industry for 140 years. Today, QUT has 5000 international students, graduates and alliances all over the world, and a global outlook.

QUT is a member of the Australian Technology Network (ATN) – an influential alliance of five prominent Australian universities of technology representing each of the mainland states of Australia.
