About the Australian College of Physical Education
Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE)
, which was founded in 1917 making it Australia’s fourteenth oldest tertiary institution, is a specialist, independent, accredited higher education institution.
The College offers degree courses tailored to careers in sports business, coaching and administration, fitness training and management, health and movement, and secondary teaching in dance and/or PDHPE.
The College values excellence and integrity and is dedicated to enriching students’ lives through learning in a tradition of enlightened scholarship.
In this tradition, ACPE courses provide students a comprehensive practical training program combined with the latest knowledge and skills in their chosen field. This well prepares ACPE graduates for realising their career aspirations and contributing as teachers of others and leaders in their professional community.
With a campus situated in the heart of Sydney Olympic Park, home of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, ACPE students get to utilise these world-class sporting facilities during their studies. The College’s teaching facilities, computing labs and library are also well equipped with modern learning technologies.
ACPE graduates can be found working within Australia and through-out the world in a diversity of organisational and professional settings. These include government and independent schools; the Departments of Sport and Recreation; sports teams and associations, including leading League, Union and AFL football and Soccer clubs; government recreation centres; fitness gyms; and private leisure centres.
