About the Australian College of Physical Education
Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE)
is a specialist independent tertiary institution, which was founded in 1917. This makes the ACPE the fourteenth oldest tertiary institution in Australia. The ACPE is situated in the heart of Sydney Olympic Park, home of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. ACPE students have a unique opportunity of being able to train and utilise state of the art Olympic facilities located adjacent to the College. The ACPE offers degrees in physical and dance education, sports business, sports coaching, and applied fitness.
ACPE graduates can be found working not only within Australia but also throughout the world and are working in a wide variety of sports related organisations. These include State Departments and Private Schools; the Departments of Sport and Recreation; the Australian Sports Commission; the Australian Olympic Committee; Local Government Recreation Centres; Fitness Gyms; Private Leisure Centres, Sporting Teams and Sports Associations and Clubs. Sports business fields include Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Event Management and Sport Administration.
The College caters for graduates who are pursuing a variety of careers, offering a full degree program in sport and dance education with access to world class sporting facilities and the latest teaching techniques. The College has contact with leading sports organisations to assist students during their industry professional workplace training programs. ACPE offers fully accredited degree programs recognised throughout Australia and overseas. All degrees offer students a comprehensive practical training placement program. This is combined with the latest techniques and skills in their chosen field, ensuring that graduates have the best possible preparation for their future.
