About the Holmes Institute
Holmes Institute
is a private Higher Education Provider (HEP) with campuses in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Specialising in Business Education, Holmes Institute offers a Bachelor of Business (BBus) with three major streams in management, marketing and international business; and a Bachelor of Professional Accounting (BPA) on all its campuses.
Holmes Institute also offers a Graduate Diploma in Business, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) at the Melbourne and Sydney campuses. Holmes Institute’s Accounting courses are accredited by the major professional Accounting authorities, the CPA, NIA and CAA.
At Holmes Institute, students develop career-related capabilities with an emphasis on business numeracy and literacy, managerial proficiency, the new economy, leadership, entrepreneurship, social responsibility and ethics. Holmes Institute’s approach to Teaching and Learning uses critical analysis and case study methods. Students’ assessment consists of a combination of exams, case study analysis and investigations into firms and organisations.
All campuses of Holmes Institute are conveniently located in the CBD and easily accessible by public transport. Each campus has modern facilities that support students in all aspects of their studies.

Academic Structure
The Faculty of Higher Education at Holmes Institute is led by the Executive Director of the faculty and the Executive Dean. Each campus has an Associate Dean and qualified faculty with industry experience.

For new enrolling students Holmes Institute offers Orientation Sessions prior to the start of each trimester. For 2010 these are:

Important Enrolment Dates
Holmes Institute provides three full trimesters starting in late March, July and November of each year. This allows students at Holmes Institute to fast-track their studies and complete a Bachelor degree within two years, a Master degree within one year.

Minimum Entrance Requirements
To satisfy the general entrance requirements for admission to the course, students must meet at least one of the following entry requirements:
• Completion of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent;
• Satisfactory completion of an approved Tertiary Preparation Program, Tertiary Orientation Program, or a Foundation Year Program offered by an accredited institution of higher education;
• Satisfactory completion of one year of full time study at an approved institute of tertiary education;
• Having reached the age of 21 (Mature Age Entry) and possessing an employment background deemed suitable by the Dean of Studies such as to give the applicant reasonable prospects for completing the course of study;
• Having reached a standard of education deemed suitable by the Dean of Studies as to be the equivalent of one of the regulations set out above;
• Demonstrate an English ability equivalent to that required for International students – see below.
For International Students:
To satisfy the general entrance requirements for admission to the course, international students must meet at least one of the following entry requirements:
• Satisfactory completion of a level of achievement in Secondary Education in their country of origin equivalent in standing to the HSC;
• Satisfactory completion of an approved program of study in their country of origin deemed by UAC to be the equivalent of a Tertiary Preparation Program or a Foundation Year Program offered by an accredited institution of higher education described in the NOOSR Guidelines;
• Satisfactory completion of one year of full time study at the post-secondary level in their country
In addition to one of the above, international students must meet one of the English language requirements below:
• Completion of study in English language equivalent to IELTS 6.0;
• Studied for two years in post secondary courses that were delivered and assessed in English
