About Griffith University
Chancellor: Ms Leneen Forde, AC, DUniv
Vice Chancellor and President: Professor Ian O’Connor
Griffith University
is an innovative university committed to multidisciplinary teaching and research, and the creation and communication of knowledge.
It has five networked campuses in three cities across the Brisbane-Gold Coast corridor.
It is a community comprising students from more than 80 countries around the globe, and academic staff who set a rigorous pace in the achievement of research and teaching excellence.
The academic approach is founded on the sharing of knowledge across traditional boundaries. This interdisciplinary framework seeks to address and solve real-world problems of the 21st century.
Providing equality of opportunity is an important part of the Griffith mission. The university strives to recognise and nurture talent, and to give students and staff opportunities to reach their potential.
Aviation, Biomolecular Science, Business Management, Criminology, Engineering and Information Technology, International Business, Journalism, Nursing, Photonics and Nanoscience, Politics and Government, Physiotherapy, Psychology, and Science are among Griffith University’s program offerings.
A suite of health programs, including graduate-entry Medicine, Dentistry, Dental Therapy, Dental Prosthetics and Dental Technology will be offered from the new $36 million Griffith School of Medicine and Oral Health Centre from 2005.
Griffith values its community linkages and it has partnerships with numerous education service providers and industries around the world, including agreements with more than 150 institutions.
Established in 1971, Griffith University is named in honour of Sir Samuel Griffith (1845-1920), a former Premier and Chief Justice of Queensland and the first Chief Justice of Australia.
