The University of Southern Queensland (USQ)
The University of Southern Queensland (USQ) is a young, dynamic University that offers programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level on-campus, off-campus or online. We believe that flexible delivery is about giving people what they want, where they want it, when they want it, in their style, in their place, in their time. We are regional, flexible and international.
USQ has campuses in Toowoomba
, on the Fraser Coast
and in Springfield
. We also operate study centres in Europe, Africa and Asia and serve a large number of students through our award-winning external studies program.
USQ has won multiple awards for innovation and multiculturalism including the Commonwealth of Learning Award of Excellence for Institutional Achievement at the third Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning, in July 2004. Other awards include Joint Winner of the Good Universities Guides’ University of the Year in 2000-2001 and in 1999 USQ won the Inaugural Award for Excellence from the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE).
Per capita, USQ is the most multicultural university in Australia and is home to 7,000 international students representing more than 120 nationalities. We embrace our cultural diversity and offer various support services to international students

Research Centres
based at USQ include the Centre for Research in Transformative Pedagogies, the Public Memory Research Centre, the Australian Centre for Sustainable Catchments, the Centre for Rural and Remote Area Health and the Centre of Excellence in Engineering Fibre Composites.

In 2006, USQ had 12101 places (EFTSU) (26,219 student numbers).
National Priority Places
In 2007, USQ will receive 15 new nursing places (EFTSL) for the Wide Bay Campus, rising to 35 in 2009 In 2007, USQ will receive 25 new nursing places (EFTSL) for the Toowoomba Campus, rising to 58 in 2009.
No new teaching places have been allocated for 2007.
