Ranked in the top five of the world’s best universities, University College London (UCL) has established a School of Energy and Resources in Adelaide, Australia. UCL has a long and distinguished international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research. Founded in 1826, UCL currently has about 21,000 students from more than 150 countries and counts 20 Nobel Prize winners among its former academic staff and students.
The UCL School of Energy and Resources provides specialist education and research that is energy and resources focused. The School is located in Victoria Square, Adelaide. The UCL School of Energy and Resources is training the next generation of professionals for the energy and resources industry, with a unique Master’s programme, Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate, and a PhD programme.
UCL’s energy and resources programmes are multi-disciplinary, providing students with a rigorous and comprehensive knowledge of contemporary theory and practice in the sustainable management of energy and natural resources.
UCL’s programmes are for recent graduates seeking to work in the energy and resources sector and those in the workplace who are looking to change the focus of their career or enhance their existing skill level. Graduates will benefit from a depth and breadth of technical and practical skills, enabling them to pursue senior management careers in the energy and resources sector, with a particular emphasis on policy, strategy and planning in an international context. Minimum Entrance Requirements
For Master’s, Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate:
A minimum of a Second Class (Upper Division) Australian or UK Bachelor’s honours degree, or an equivalent international qualification is required for admission. The degree should be in an appropriate discipline (for example, engineering, economics, science, law, or business).
Alternatively, an Australian undergraduate degree plus substantial work experience in a relevant industry or government sector (for example, energy and resource companies, policy organisations, regulatory bodies).
For PhD:
A specialist Masters degree in an appropriate discipline (including the UCL SERAus MSc or other programme e.g. engineering, information technology, economics, geography, law, or business studies) from an internationally recognised university. Candidates who do not meet this requirement, but who have a minimum of a Second Class (Upper Division) Australian or UK Bachelor honours degree in an appropriate discipline, may be accepted subject to undertaking successfully the first year of the UCL SERAus MSc in Energy and Resources: Policy and Practice as a qualifying course.
