About Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT)
Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT). 
has six campuses across northern Melbourne from Collingwood to Greensborough and a regional campus at Ararat. NMIT has several world class training facilities which contribute to NMIT's reputation as an innovator in vocational education in Australia.
The institute offers more than 500 certificate to bachelor level courses which build vocational skills. NMIT offers bachelor degree and associate degree courses in fields where the institute has a strong reputation and supportive industry partnerships. Bachelor degrees are offered in agriculture and land management, aquaculture, Australian popular music, equine studies, hospitality management, illustration, viticulture and winemaking, and writing and publishing. Associated degrees are offered in accounting, international business and, international business management. It is anticipated that future higher education courses to be offered include education (early years), musculoskeletal therapy, mental health work, music business, and event management, and education.
Students are able to combine theory with practical experience using NMIT's industry standard facilities such as; a thoroughbred horse stud, vineyards, an aquaculture research centre, design and performance studio, Flat Chat Press, hospitality training facilities including a restaurant and bistro.
Significant features of study at NMIT are the smaller class sizes and supportive environment, practical experience and opportunities for supervised, student work placements in industry.

Full time: $12,000 per year (per 2009)
Part time: Part time fees are pro rata and determined by subject load.
FEE-HELP is available to HE students at NMIT.

Providers are required to be audited. NMIT is registered as a higher education provider but the Victorian Registration & Qualifications Authority under the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (HESA).
NMIT was audited by the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) in April 2009. The Audit Report is not available yet.
