Maximum duration


The maximum duration of your Indigenous Staff Scholarship (ISS) is a period of 12 months from the date of commencement of study. You must begin your study in the year following acceptance of the scholarship.

Suspensions


If you decide to suspend your ISS after you have started studying, then you must apply in writing to DEEWR.

You may suspend your ISS for a maximum of six months.

Exception: DEEWR has granted you, in writing, a suspension of more than six months.

Withdrawal from course

If you withdraw from your course or you complete your course of study, you must immediately advise DEEWR in writing.

Change of course

You will require approval of DEEWR to change your course of study.  You must apply in writing to DEEWR.

Transfer of a scholarship

You may transfer your ISS to another eligible administering provider subject to approval by DEEWR. You will require written support of both your current and new administering providers.

Termination

The Minister may terminate your ISS for any of the following reasons. If you:

  • fail to provide the necessary student reports
  • cease to study full-time 
  • withdraw from the course for which you received the ISS
  • resign from your position with your 'employing provider'
  • do not resume study at the end of a deferral period
  • are found to have committed a serious academic misconduct
  • fail to meet any condition of your scholarship.

The maximum duration of your Indigenous Staff Scholarship (ISS) is a period of 12 months from the date of commencement of study.

Statement of Progress

You must provide a Statement of Progress to DEEWR. The Statement should be from your supervisor or a relevant academic authority employed by the administering provider.

The Statement of Progress must be submitted within 30 days of completing your first six-month period of study.

Final Report

You must provide a final report to DEEWR including a copy of your academic transcript within one month of receiving your transcript from the provider.


Your scholarship may be terminated if you do not meet the reporting requirements.
