Scholarships

The Commonwealth Scholarships (CS) programme provides financial support to eligible undergraduate students to assist with the costs associated with higher education. There are two scholarships – one for general education costs and one for accommodation costs.

These scholarships:

  • target students from low socio-economic status backgrounds
  • do not count as income for any social security income tests

  • will be awarded to eligible students on a competitive basis
  • do not need to be repaid by the student.

The Commonwealth Scholarships are administered on behalf of the Australian Government by individual higher education providers. The providers are responsible for conducting their own application and selection procedures, in line with guidelines issued by the Australian Government.
