Overview
A variety of non-Commonwealth scholarships and awards are available for students to gain financial help for their higher education
Non-Commonwealth scholarships
General Sir John Monash Postgraudate Student Awards 
Up to eight awards are awarded each year to outstanding Australians graduating form Australian universities to enable them to study abroad at the worlds best universities, appropriate to their field of study.
Australian Co-operative Research Centres
Provide scholarships for research awards such as PhD, Masters, Postgraduate and honours as well as vacation studentships.
French Government Scholarships
The Embassy of France in Australia offers postgraduate scholarships or grants at master and doctoral level.

State Scholarship Foundation (IKY Greece)
Up to 40 scholarships for students from Western Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and Japan wishing to carry out postgraduate or postdoctural studies in Greece.
Medical Rural Bonded (MRB) Scholarships
The MRB scholarship scheme offers 100 scholarships annually. These are attached to places in medical schools.
Hungarian Government Scholarships 2005/2006
The Hungarian Ministry of Education is offering a scholarship program for students wishing to undertake Undergraduate or Postgraduate study in Hungary in the 2005/2006 academic year.
