Am I entitled to FEE-HELP?

You are entitled to FEE-HELP assistance for a unit of study if you:

• are undertaking study at an approved higher education provider or Open Universities Australia ;
• meet the citizenship or residency requirements (see What are the citizenship or residency requirements?);
• are enrolled in an eligible unit of study at the census date for the unit (see What is an eligible unit of study?) and remain registered for the unit at the end of the census date;
• are not Commonwealth supported in relation to that unit;
• meet the tax file number (TFN) requirements (see Do I have to provide my Tax File Number?);
• have completed, signed and submitted a valid Request for FEE-HELP assistance form for the unit of study or the course of study of which the unit forms a part, on or before the census date (see How do I apply for FEE-HELP assistance?); and
• have not exceeded the FEE-HELP limit (see How much can I borrow?).

However, if you are doing a unit of study, access to which is provided by Open Universities Australia, you are not entitled to FEE-HELP if you have completed 8 or more units of study with Open Universities Australia and have failed 50% or more of these units.
