Re-crediting: where your FEE-HELP balance or Student Learning Entitlement (SLE) is re-credited by your provider because of special circumstances. Remission: where your FEE-HELP or HECS-HELP debt is removed by your provider because of special circumstances. See: Removal of debt
Repayment thresholds: the income points beyond which you must make compulsory repayments towards your HELP debt. See: When do I start repaying my HECS-HELP debt?
Request for Commonwealth assistance form: a form that a student must complete and lodge to their provider on or before the census date, if they wish to receive assistance from the Commonwealth. There are different forms for different types of assistance. Students must obtain the form from their provider. Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP form: the form that a student must complete and lodge in order to access Commonwealth support and/or HECS-HELP. Students will receive a copy of the form from their provider. See: Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP form
Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP – pre-2005 HECS form: the form that pre-2005 HECS students must complete and lodge with their provider in order to access Commonwealth support and/or HECS-HELP. Those students not applying for HECS-HELP are still required to complete the form. Students must obtain the form from their provider. Request for FEE-HELP assistance - Open Universities Australia form: the form that a student must complete and lodge with their provider in order to apply for FEE HELP for units of study undertaken with Open Universities Australia (formerly OLA). See: How do I apply for FEE-HELP assistance?

Six-month study period (OS-HELP): the notional six month period to which a given OS-HELP loan relates. See: OS-HELP
Student cohort: all the students commencing a course of study in a particular year with a specific higher education provider.
Student contribution amount for a place: the student contribution amount payable per EFTSL for a given unit of study. See: What you pay
Student contribution band: one of four bands of disciplinary areas into which a given unit of study will fall. Student contribution bands are used to determine the maximum student contributions for a Commonwealth supported place. See: What you pay
Student contributions: contributions that Commonwealth supported students make towards the cost of their education. See: What you pay
Student Learning Entitlement (SLE): an entitlement that, if eligible, gives you access to a Commonwealth supported place. There are three types of SLE: ordinary SLE, additional SLE and lifelong SLE. See: Being eligible & Student Learning Entitlement
Study abroad programme: where a domestic student undertakes study outside Australia with an overseas higher education institution that counts as credit towards a course in which they are enrolled with an Australian higher education provider. These students are not covered by an agreement between institutions and will typically pay fees set by the overseas institution while studying overseas. See: Study overseas

Third party arrangement: where a provider enters into an arrangement with another entity to deliver all or part of a course to students.
